Gospel Meeting in Area IV church of Christ on July 29-30,2009

We are thanks for the Lord that our gospel meeting in Area IV church of Christ on July 29-30 ,2009 was successfully materialized even though typhoon on that time. We are so thankful to God also for keeping safe of our fellow preachers from south who attended the meeting where they are suffered the rain in their traveled as well their went home. The brethren are truly grateful and edified to the Lords word delivered by our fellow sound preachers. We thanks to everyone who served and sacrificed to made this gospel meeting, especially to brother Leonardo Jabagat who permit us to use his house for our sleeping and brother Cesar Gundao house for our eating place. We thank you all for the prayers...!

On July 29 about 8 PM we start our services. As introducer I called brother Sammy Cabansa [preacher in Tagpirara church, Brookes Point] as our first speaker. He preaches about "SIN" in his text from Romans 4:8. He explained what the man is and how Lord not impute his sins through the cross of christ.

Our second speaker is brother Eddie Favila [preacher in Inaran church, Espaniola]. He emphasized about the baptism. He qouted Rom.6:7,4 that a man must be baptized to buried his sins. If a man saved without baptism meaning he saved without buried [forgiveness-Acts 2:38] his sins. Otherwise, he buried alive if he saved before he baptized...! If not why not?

The brethren who are attended on that night are listened closely to the Gods word. There are questions answered like, "When Christ bare our sins in the cross, therefore we have no sins already, we have nothing to do but to believed on him only." Brother Jonathan Sapitula answered that the salvation offered is conditional and brother Dario Belviz answered also shortly that the work of salvation has two parts, the Gods part and the mans part. The Gods part is already done that is the God, Christ, Gospel, Grace, etc. but the Mans part is not yet done, that is he must do to be saved which is to Hear, Believed, Repent, Confess, Baptism, Faithful, Work, etc. As Paul said,"By which also[we are save not only one thing but also other all things necessary in salvation-imphasis mine] ye are saved..." (1 Co.15:2)

On July 30, about 8:30 A.M. we start our services again with singing praises to God, "...that is the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to his name." (Heb.13:15). Brother Edward Belando [preacher in Burirao church, Narra] is our song leader.

Brother Reuben Tiburan [preacher in Tagpait church, Aborlan] preaches this photo as our first speaker on that morning. He preached entitled "The Holy Spirit Indwells The Christians Through The Word" qouted in 1 Co.3:16-17. He explained it well through other supporting passages. There are some questions raised about the topic said, "If the Holy Spirit indwells the Christians today therefore they must perform miracles as the apostles and first century Christians?" [this questioned he based in Acts 19:1-6]. We answered concisely that the apostles miracles [powers] through Holy Spirit is merely exclusive promise for them purposing to confirm the word (Mark 16:15-20; Acts 1:2,8). That the powers of them is not transferable, these gifts of the Holy Spirit was given through the laying apostles hands only (Acts 8:14-18). But these miracles or gifts was intended to end when the perfect [word] is come [confirmed] (1 Co.13:8-10; Heb.2:3-4). We do not need miracles today to confirm the word because we have already a Bible. Holy Spirit indwells the Christians today through the Bible not to perform miracles but to recieved the promise gift of the Holy Spirit which is the hope of eternal life (Acts 2:38-39; Rom.6:23; Titus 1:2).

Brother Emmanuel Sapitula [preacher in Babanga church, Brookes point] preaches entitled, "Where Are You?" He explained well with comparison study of what our situation if we are in Christ and the consequences those out of Christ. As Christ said,"He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad." (Mt.12:30).

The brethren attended that day are attentively listened in the Gods word.
Brother Judson Montimor [preacher in Aramaywan church, Narra] preaches about the gospel of
the kingdom quoted in Mt.4:23. He emphasized that the kingdom preaches in the New Testament is very different in denominational preachers today preaches kingdom. This kingdom is already stablished on the day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit comes to the apostles (Mark 9:1; Acts 1:8; 2:1-4; 1 Co.12:28). The kingdom and the church are the same (Rev.5:9-10; Acts 20:28). This kingdom is belongs to Christ (Col.1:13) and her true sense is heavenly not earthly as Christ himself said,"My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence." (John 18:36).

Brother Jonathan Sapitula [preacher in Locon church, Brookes point] preached entitled, "Ignorance" quoted in Acts 3:17. He showed that the people often do wrong because they do not know the scriptures (Mt.22:29). The ignorance can reach into knowledge of truth through the constant study of the Bible (Acts 11:17). John said, "Blessed is he that readeth and they that hear the words of this prophecy and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand." (Rev.1:3).
